Run out of sugar

The topic of our 2nd breakfast was “Run out of sugar” so we decided to prepared some healthy snacks. On the 29 of April the Croatian, Portuguese, Polish, Latvian and Spanish students prepared some sugar-free snacks as part of the BREWISE project.
In Portugal we got together at the school cafeteria and divided the tasks to groups of students, some were responsible for taking photos and videos to BREWISE Instagram while others chopped the vegetables for the houmus and prepared the tahini treats. When we finished we went to different classrooms so the students of our school could taste our healthy breakfast. At the beginning we went to the classes and distributed it to our pupils. Then we walked from class to class. We visited headmaster’s office, too. Everyone was satisfied with our snacks! In Croatia they prepare tahini treats at home, but houmus and vegetables in the school, the other schools did the same thing.
In Latvia the students were divided in boys and girls, while the boys made the houmus the girls chopped the vegetables but they were all together when they were doing the tahini treats.
Spain we did this in groups the first 3 hours of the morning and in the playground we had distributed for the boys and girls of3rt and 4th of ESO.Why “run out of sugar”? More and more children and teens are consuming huge amounts of sugar everyday ruining their health and their bodies. In this activity we tried to show that you don’t need to use huge amounts of sugar to do a delicious healthy breakfast!
